Coming from Boston, New Kids On The Block are a boy band that effortlessly blends pop and dance with R&B sounds. Brought together by the efforts of esteemed producer Maurice Starr, the boy band is made up of five major talents. While they all lend their skills as backing vocalists, each member exudes unique charm. The group is made up of: Jordan Knight (primary lead vocals), Donnie Wahlberg (secondary lead vocals and rapping), Joey McIntyre (co-secondary lead vocals), Danny Wood (tertiary lead vocals), and Jonathan Knight (occasional lead vocals).
Kicking off operations in 1984, these stars have shined brightly ever since! Over the past forty years, New Kids On The Block have carved up a sound that rises from pop and dance music, R&B and soulful sounds, as well as hip-hop catchy hooks.
They burst onto the scene with a self-titled debut album released in 1986. They skyrocketed into mainstream success with their 1990 “Step By Step” LP. Featuring a series of crossover R&B, pop tracks like “You Got It (The Right Stuff,” “Cover Girl,” and “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time), the group absolutely smashed box office sales, performing around 200 concerts a year in sold out venues across the world. AMAZING.
