The B-52s are teaming up for a massive "Cosmic De-Evolution Tour" this fall. Though both bands have kicked off farewell tours early on in the decade, this co-headlining run is billed as a continuation of these musical goodbyes. One thing's for sure, these fellas' heart for music and passion for performing doesn't seem to die down. Following their all-stars SNL 50 concert and a bunch of farewell shows, you can clearly feel that they're making the most out of it. With a joint run this fall, expect legendary nights of new wave hits that span decades of impact.

About Devo

Known for their biggest hits & favorites, "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Working in the Coal Mine", "Beautiful World", "Whip It", and many more, the band has sold millions of albums globally. With a name rooted in the concerpt of "de-evolution", their music and aesthetics relate to to the idea of mankind regressing due to the dysfunction and herd mentality that they've seen in American society. Though they've been considered as a "joke band" by the press back in the day, it sure is no joke how they're standing as one of the most influential names in new wave. Performing farewell shows, they have proved their long-standing passion for music. Through their satirical and quirky humor, their rockin' pieces were definitely influential. 

"Devo and the B-52’s on tour together! That it took almost 50 years to happen is rather mind-blowing," Gerry Casale shared in a press release, as cited from Pitchfork. " We each did something right in different ways that withstood the test of time. Now we're here to prove we can still ‘bring it’ as they say!"

The B-52s is another titan in the new wave revolution. Known for their strong lineup of hits including "Love Shack", "Roam", "Planey Claire", "Part Out of Bounds", "Whammy Kiss", "Summer of Love", "(Meet) The Flintstones", and many more, these Grammy-nominated rockers have shaken up the scene with their "thrift shop aesthetic" and poppin' rock attitudes. Their trademark sound made up of guitar and keyboard-driven riffs and instrumentation has always been a favorite among listeners. 

Thinking that they've hit the breaks on touring already, Fred Schneider said "In 2022, I swore I’d never get on a tour bus again," while they were careful to share with fans that they'll consider performing shows that don't need awful travel situations. "When we were offered the chance to do a small run of shows with Devo, we all said this is an extraordinary opportunity we couldn't say no to."

Sharing how it was probably fate that brought them together with Devo at the SNL anniversary, the band is all stoked to create amazing memories with their fellow legends in music. The Cosmic De-evolution Tour is defiitely gonna be the real deal.
