Alexisonfire is pretty much… well… on fire.
They’ve been on fire since a three-band break-up brought frontman George Pettit, multi-instrumentalist Dallas Green, lead-guitarist Wade MacNeil, bassist Chris Steele, and drummer Jordan Hastings together in what would become one of the most successful Canadian bands ever. It was, however, Crisis that secured Alexisonfire’s spot as one of only four Canadian artists to have a top-of-the-charts debut and fixed the world’s eyes on them. Crisis is rated as Alexisonfire’s best album yet.
And what better way to celebrate two decades of one of the best albums than with a performance of the very multi-platinum album that catapulted Alexisonfire into international stardom? The post-hardcore juggernauts are slated to perform Crisis in full for two nights only at the RBC Amphitheatre, along with a career-spanning set featuring smashers such as Accidents, Sweet Dreams of Otherness, Young Cardinals, Sans Soleil, .44 Caliber Love Letter, Pulmonary Archery, and No Transitory.
Crisis itself is a feast of darker themes - from Blizzard of ‘77’s look into one of the worst storms in Canadian history to the plight of disenfranchised workers of Boiled Frogs; it boasts a rhythmically liberal approach; it captures the essence of Alexisonfire’s sound when they are performing live - without excessive effects, looping, overdubs, and layered production; it features a vocal delivery for the books, plenty of obliterating guitar riffs, killer basslines, and unmatched drumming. Crisis is angsty, powerful, and explosive, and through everything, its raw and bleeding emotional core shines through. The album ranked on Kerrang!’s list of the 50 Greatest Albums of the 21st Century, and had massive influences on major bands, including Silverstein, Cancer Bats, We Are The Ocean, Four Year Strong, and 36 Crazyfists.
So come on down to the RBC Amphitheatre this summer and experience one of the most important post-hardcore albums ever performed live - you’ll be the better for it! Some of the world’s most popular bands have performed here, and since that’s an ongoing thing, you can roll into the RBC Amphitheatre at any time and catch some of the best live entertainment around! The venue boasts top-tier sound and lighting systems, great sight-lines, modern amenities, and fantastic acoustics, along with room for up to 16,000 patrons across a covered reserved seating area, a reserved seating open area, and a massive general admission lawn space.
