American country music group Zac Brown Band first made waves in 2008 upon releasing their major label debut album, The Foundation. The five-time platinum-selling album debuted at number 9 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at number 2 on the Top Country Albums chart. As the band’s first major label project, The Foundation was a stellar success in the U.S., selling more than five million copies. The Foundation spawned three number-1 singles, “Chicken Fried,” “Toes,” and “Highway 20 Ride,” all of which earned multi-platinum certifications in the U.S. Thanks to the phenomenal success of The Foundation, Zac Brown Band scored the Academy of Country Music Award for Best New Vocal Duo or Group and CMT Award for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year. The following year, the band bagged their first Grammy Award for Best New Artist and earned two Grammy nods for The Foundation and its lead single, “Chicken Fried.”
After their incredible major label debut, Zac Brown Band continued their chart-topping streak with their next five studio albums, all of which topped either the Billboard 200, the Top Country Albums, or both. In 2010, the band’s sophomore album, You Get What You Give, featured one of Zac Brown Band’s most iconic hits, “Knee Deep.” The 2011 single dominated the Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also spawned the single “As She’s Walking Away” featuring Alan Jackson, which later won the Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
