The Xx & Grizzly Bear at Budweiser Stage

The Xx & Grizzly Bear Tickets

Molson amphitheatre | Toronto,

This is not your typical rock concert.  Don’t expect headbanging and body slamming (yet you are not discouraged to do so).  The music is hypnotic, heady, trippy and it will rock you…gently. The music of The xx is all the stuff that indie-alternative rock music is made of.  It is melancholy, yet reverberates with a soulful groove. It ebbs and flows yet pierces through; it is lethal, it can kill you…softly.  Catch The xx, touring together with the Grizzly Bear at  the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre,  Echo Beach, Toronto, Canada, on June 6, 2013.  Show starts 7:30 pm.

The xx rose to indie fame like a thief in the night.  Formed in 2005, in  Wandsworth, London buy a bunch of school kids who never quite expected to gain cult following and critical acclaim when they released their 2009 debut album ‘xx’.  This album achieved a rating of “universal acclaim” on entertainment website Metacritic;   and was included on “best of the year” lists, placing ninth on the Rolling Stone list and second for NME.  In October of that same year 2009,  they were part of MTV Iggy’s “Top 10 Bands with Buzz”, and placed sixth on the 2009 NME The Future 50 list.

Frontliner act of the night will be the Grizzly Bear.  Formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2002,  the Grizzly Bear is composed of Edward Droste (vocals, keyboards, omnichord), Daniel Rossen (vocals, guitar, banjo, keyboards), Chris Taylor (bass, backing vocals, various instruments, producer) and Christopher Bear(drums, backing vocals).  This bands stands out in indie rock circles for their heavy vocal harmonies, psychedelic pop, folk rock, and electronic- experimental sound.
