Founded by Drake, Oliver El-Khatib, and lproducer Noah "40" Shebib, OVO (October’s Very Own) Records, a subsidary of Warner Bros. Records, came to be in 2012, following the success of Drake’s huge album “Nothing Was the Same”. OVO Fest, however, began two years prior to the label’s official formation, and has been running strong ever since. Known for its massive names, with artists such as as Eminem, Kanye West and Lil Wayne and Nas having performed there, the festival has also launched the careers of then lesser-known artists such as J. Cole, The Weeknd, and Kendrick Lamar, who would go on to become absolutely huge!
