Formed in 1994, English rock band Muse consists of Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals, keyboards) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion). The band released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999, but it was 2001's The Origin of Symmetry that exposed the band to a mainstream audience, peaking at number 3 in the UK Albums Chart, and going on to be certified platinum by the RIAA. 2003's album, Absolution, was to be the first of of five consecutive UK number-one albums from the band. The band has earned many awards over the years, including two Grammy Awards (Best Rock Album for The Resistance and Drones), two Brit Awards (Best British Live Act twice), five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. To date, they have sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
