2025 Year in review! The RBC Amphitheatre 2025 highlights!

The RBC Amphitheatre has been the ultimate live performance destination ever since they opened the doors back in 1971. Formerly known as Budweiser Stage, this venue has long been the go-to spot for Toronto entertainment, hosting major festivals and some of the best concerts out there. Over the years, RBC Amphitheatre has stunned both locals and tourists alike. The venue made an epic entrance on 22 May 1971. And ever since, the city has been home to the biggest names in the history of music. Lovingly known as “The Six,” Toronto has been etched into popular culture by hip-hop icon Drake. Proud of his upbringing, the Grammy Award-winning rapper has helped raise the profile of RBC Amphitheatre as North America’s top venue. Set on the grounds of Ontario Place, the amphitheater hosts everything from rock and pop right through to country and jazz. With a huge capacity of 16,000, top notch stage facilities, and a leading roster of talent, it’s no wonder that it has played host to industry pros like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Billie Eilish, and, of course, Drake.
Spring
2025 has been a huge year for the RBC Amphitheatre. Its Spring season opened with Sessanta V 2.0: Primus, Puscifer & A Perfect Circle on May 22. The triple P’s shook Toronto to its core with alternative metal. The following day, two of the biggest icons in rock history took over the venue. English rebel-yeller Billy Idol joined forces with the iconic rocker Joan Jett and The Blackhearts for the concert of the year! It’s a Nice Day to… Tour Again! at the RBC Amphitheatre was absolutely explosive! Next up was the country firehouse Jason Aldean. The “Dirt Road Anthem” hitmaker made an awesome live-stage comeback on May 24 with the Full Throttle Tour. The rockin’ country energy was matched by special guests Nate Smith, RaeLynn, and Dee Jay Silver. May was rounded off with Pierce The Veil, Sleeping with Sirens & Beach Weather. June hosted everything from reggae, pop, and country to techno, classical, and alternative. One standout performance was Simple Minds on June 18. They brought the Alive & Kicking Tour to Canadian soil, and they didn’t disappoint. Fans got the chance to rock out to their favorite duo live. The night hit an all-time climax when Simple Minds sang “Don’t You (Forget About Me).”
Summer
After a memorable spring season that saw industry heavyweights like Justice, Bloc Party, Halsey, Dierks Bentley, Zach Top & The Band Loula, KES, Hauser, Volbeat, Three Days Grace & Wage War, City and Colour take over the stage, summer started with a bang. Mumford & Sons took their latest album “Rushmere” to the stage on June 24 alongside Good Neighbours, meanwhile Peach Pit and Briston Maroney impressed fans with their celebrated co-headline Long Hair, Long Life tour on June 26.
Dave Matthews Band welcomed July in style on July 8 with their summer tour. Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett brought the country vibes. On July 10, Luke Bryan delivered his best hits and new anthems from his latest record “Mind of a Country Boy.” Meanwhile, July 17 saw Thomas Rhett set the stage ablaze with his Grammy-nominated country earworms. July also saw industry legends like Sean Paul & Wiz Khalifa (July 19), Kesha & Scissor Sisters (July 21), Rod Stewart (July 22), and Nelly (July 31). Cyndi Lauper said farewell with the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour. The eighties powerhouse waved goodbye in style with her jaw-dropping four-octave range.
Highlights of August included Goo Goo Dolls & Dashboard Confessional (August 10), Lil Wayne (August 11), Styx, Kevin Cronin & Don Felder (August 13), and Leon Bridges & Charley Crockett (August 28). Neil Young also hit the stage not once but twice. On August 17 and August 19, The King of Rock landed on the stage with the Chrome Hearts for the Love Earth Tour… And it was electric!
Fall
Just like the previous seasons, fall stood tall with a calendar overflowing with the world’s top artists. On September 25, Lainey Wilson brought her signature bell bottoms to the RBC Amphitheatre. The “Hang Tight Honey” hitmaker brought along special guests Muscadine Bloodline and Lauren Watkins for the ride and it was epic!! Fall also saw Twenty One Pilots (September 21), The B-52s & Devo (September 24), Slander – DJ (September 26), Suicideboys (September 27), Shawn Mendes (September 28). September ended in style with a legendary set by Alice Cooper and Judas Priest. This co-headlining trek came as a bit of a surprise to fans as Judas Priest’s drummer Les Binks recently passed away and Alice Cooper was going on a solo tour to promote his new music. The schedule was tight but they made it work with one epic stop in Canada. The concert didn’t only pay tribute to the legendary Les Binks but also debuted new songs like Alice Cooper’s “Breadcrumbs” for the first time. Fall wrapped up with the beloved All Things Go Music Festival. This two-day party saw bands and solo artists from different genres take to the stage on October 4-5. Headliners included Reene Rap, Remi Wolf, Kacey Musgraves and Role Model.
With a calendar like that, it’s clear 2025 is one for the memory books! The exciting year saw fans come from far and wide to dance the night away to their favorite artists. “Whether you’re a seasoned concertgoer or a first-time attendee, I highly recommend the Budweiser Stage for your next live music experience. Its waterfront setting, state-of-the-art facilities, and unparalleled ambiance were all good times!,” praises Patty from Los Angeles. While another happy concertgoer says “This venue has an amazing atmosphere and the sound quality was really good!”
